The environment is more than just a buzzword. It refers to all the elements and physical phenomena that condition a living organism. However, our past and current human activities are having a major impact on the various ecosystems and on natural resources. This brings many environmental challenges into play and we must respond to these for the future of the planet.
The role of the environmental engineer
The environmental engineer has a major role to play here. Their brief? Ensuring that ecology serves sustainable spaces. They may study the impact of major development operations (such as the construction of a motorway) on a given place or assist the protection of nature on a site open to the public. In industry, they analyse and raise awareness of the impact of a product on the environment, at every stage of its life cycle. They will ensure that the various stakeholders are aware of ecology and the consequences of our actions on the environment.
Cutting-edge education and research
The engineering training and MSc offered at IMT Nord Europe gives you the chance to learn to design materials and constructions with the lowest impact on their environment. You will benefit from the support of researchers from the Centre for Education, Research and Innovation in Energy Environment with regard to the impact measurements of human activity, the quality of outdoor and indoor air and solutions for a sustainable interaction between man and nature.
