Bringing us the chance to imagine, experiment, test, prototype, share, FabLabs have changed our relationship with manufacturing. For an engineer, it’s the perfect opportunity to develop your ideas, better understand the materials and make your projects a reality. This is why IMT Nord Europe set up a FabLab in 2016, a place that’s completely dedicated to innovation, collective work and raising awareness of today’s digital manufacturing tools.
Open to everyone
The FabLab is open to everyone: personnel, students, APUI project leaders but also makers outside the school, individuals, associations and companies. As well as making objects yourself, it allows you to share your skills and learn through contact with IMT Nord Europe staff and other members. The FabLab also has ICI Montreuil, La machinerie and Planète Sciences as partners and is financed by the Community of Agglomeration of Douaisis and the Hauts-de-France Regional Council.
Tools and training
With 3D scanning, 3D printing, CAD software and laser cutting, anything is possible at FabLab IMT Nord Europe! Of course, you won’t be on your own when it comes to the tools: training is in place so that you can freely use all the resources offered by the platform. Another opportunity for skills development…
