The 2025 edition of the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings has just been released. IMT Nord Europe (Institut Mines-Télécom) has once again secured a noteworthy position in the global top 300 (top 10 in France) of higher education institutions making the greatest impact on sustainable development.
This ranking assesses universities worldwide based on their contributions to the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). A total of 2,526 institutions were ranked this year — 374 more than in 2024.
The SDGs encompass a wide range of global sustainability issues, including climate change, biodiversity, energy, water, poverty, gender equality, economic prosperity, peace, agriculture, and education.
“This result confirms the international recognition of the hands-on work carried out by IMT Nord Europe’s teams. I am proud of their unwavering commitment to making a daily impact for an eco-responsible future — through our education, research, and innovation activities, both nationally and internationally. We are also pleased to see several other schools from Institut Mines-Télécom well positioned in this key ranking focused on the fundamental themes of sustainable development,”
commented Céline Fasulo, Director of IMT Nord Europe.

A Recognized Strategic Commitment
In June 2024, IMT Nord Europe renewed its Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility (SD&SR) label for the maximum period of 4 years. This French national label evaluates the actions of higher education and research institutions against the 17 UN SDGs, based on a framework structured around five core pillars.
This achievement stems from IMT Nord Europe’s 2023–2027 strategy, “Acting for an eco-responsible future”, which aims to:
“Shape today’s talent and tomorrow’s knowledge to lead ecological, digital, and industrial transitions.”
